Ruhuna University medical faculty teachers withdraw from strike.


The Ruhunu University Medical Faculty lecturers have withdrawn from the strike the FUTA has currently launched.Vice Chancellor Professor Susirith Mendis said that the Medical Faculty Lecturers had informed him about this.
The Professor also said that accordingly from yesterday  they came together for  educational activities of the  medical faculty.
The Vice Chancellor also said that action would be taken to pay the medical faculty lecturers the arrears for the three months in which they were engaged in the strike as promised by Higher Education Minister S. B. Dissanayake.
FUTA says that several sections have by now requested for opportunity to intervene to solve the University teachers' problems.FUTA chairman Dr. Nirmaal Ranjith Dewasiri told our news team that by now former Vice Chancellors and Sri Lanka Academicians Association have intervened in this matter.
Meanwhile Colombo University Professor Kshanikaa Hirimbureygama said that the faculties of her university were by now in the process of recommencing.
